Birmingham based law firm are looking to recruit a Senior Legal Assistant/Team Leader their Court of Protection team. This role will support a team of Legal AdvisorsYou will be responsible for providing administration support to the team and assisting with the day to day administration of all aspect of Court of Protection work. You will oversee an coordinate the work that is managed for the fee earners, and supervise the team of legal assistants to ensure all tasks are completed in line with deadlines and SLAs.
This role requires proactive thinking to support the needs of the Legal Advisors. Your workload will be varied and includes but is not limited to the following: -
Overseeing and managing centralised inbox for entire department
Coordinating tasks and overseeing junior pool of Legal Assistants
Opening, closing and archiving client files
Dealing with payments on behalf of clients
Liaising with internal and external account departments
First point of contact for clients dealing with all queries
Ensuring documents and records are stored appropriately,
Coordinating liaison with Litigation teams regarding finance updates
Keeping records of client’s financial assets
Assist with the preparation of bills of costs.
Oversight of cheque & payment requisitions
Receiving and dealing with items from safe storage
Reconciling bank statements
Preparation of forms
Diary management and expense management
Organising meetings, travel arrangements etc.
Managing a small team of Legal Assistants
Applicants will have previous Senior Level administration experience ideally in Private Client or Court of Protection. Experience of overseeing other staff would be an advantage although not essential.
