An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven Legal Practice Manager to join a leading national law firm. Acting as a key point of contact across the department, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of Legal and Team Assistants, ensuring workloads are effectively managed, processes run efficiently, and exceptional service standards are consistently delivered.
This is a permanent, full-time position based in Nottingham City Centre, offering a hybrid working model with 2 days per week in the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop legal support teams through performance management, coaching, appraisals, wellbeing support and tailored training initiatives.
- Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of legal support services, ensuring effective resource allocation, workflow management and consistently high standards across teams.
- Build strong relationships with fee earners and key stakeholders to understand client requirements, meet SLAs/KPIs and deliver responsive, business-focused support services.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, headcount planning and team development to ensure the department remains appropriately resourced and aligned with business needs.
- Drive continuous improvement by reviewing processes, implementing efficiencies, monitoring performance metrics and adapting services to evolving business, client and technology demands.
- Ensure compliance with firm policies and regulatory standards while leading departmental initiatives and projects that promote operational excellence, consistency and positive change.
About You
- Previous experience managing and developing teams, ideally within a legal or professional services environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage a demanding workload effectively.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to build relationships at all levels.
- A proactive, forward-thinking approach with a focus on continuous improvement and service excellence.
- Experience managing change, improving processes and supporting high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
