International Billing Assistant
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Billing Assistant to join a leading international law firm, based in their modern Birmingham city centre offices.
This role sits at the heart of the finance function, supporting legal teams and ensuring the billing process runs efficiently and accurately, delivering a high standard of service to clients.
You will work closely with Partners, Fee Earners, and PAs to coordinate all aspects of the billing cycle, helping to ensure invoices are processed smoothly from initial draft through to completion.
Key responsibilities:
- Reviewing draft billing statements for accuracy and ensuring compliance with client-specific guidelines.
- Refining time entries and descriptions before submission to the Billing team.
- Monitoring invoice progress and liaising with Billing and Collections teams as required.
- Preparing billing reports using Excel.
- Acting as a point of contact for invoice-related queries and supporting e-billing processes.
- Assisting with client and matter data updates and maintenance.
- Chasing outstanding timesheets to support timely billing.
- Keeping accurate daily updates on workflow trackers, including bill status and next steps.
Key Attributes:
- Previous experience in a billing, finance, or accounts role (legal or professional services preferred).
- Strong Excel and overall IT skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Confident handling data and analysing financial information.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and a proactive approach.
