Our client, a highly respected national consultancy looking for a proactive and experienced Senior HR Assistant to become a vital part of their HR & People function. This is a dynamic role supporting all aspects of the employee experience from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations, policy compliance, and continuous improvement projects.
The Senior HR Assistant will be instrumental in ensuring HR legal compliance while supporting employees’ positive journeys from their first interview through to exit. The role combines core HR administration with hands-on work in projects and people engagement, helping to shape a supportive and thriving culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the management team with recruiting processes, including job advertising, background checks, right-to-work verification, and scheduling interviews.
- Prepare and issue new starter documentation, coordinate internal onboarding.
- Conduct exit interviews and support offboarding processes.
- Be the first point of contact for employee queries on People & Culture policies, benefits, and procedures.
- Support with resolving basic Employee Relations cases, escalating complex issues as needed.
- Ensure HR policies remain current with changes in employment law and assist in drafting new policies as required.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of employee performance management platforms.
- Support and occasionally coordinate training programs, workshops, seminars, and in-house development initiatives.
- Write and submit reports on HR activities and trends to the Head of People & Culture.
- Oversee HR events, facilitate management-employee meetings, and improve internal communications.
- Stay up to date with HR best practices, deliver HR-related projects
Applicants MUST have:
- Solid commercial experience in HR administration or advisory roles, ideally within a dynamic or growing environment.
- In-depth understanding of HR processes and employment law.
- Proactive, solutions-focused mindset dedicated to enhancing employee engagement and operational excellence.
