Hybrid working, full-time permanent position based in Birmingham city centre, offering up to £26,000 per annum depending on experience.

An exciting opportunity to work for a specialist law firm that values improving lives and communities as a Court of Protection Caseworker has just become available! Based in Birmingham, the successful applicant would be supporting individuals in managing their financial affairs who lack the capacity to do this themselves, in a caring and compassionate way.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Overseeing, setting and maintaining clients’ personal and household budgets, including paying client bills
  • Organising professional support for clients, including therapists and care staff
  • Responding to and resolving client emergencies in an efficient and supportive manner
  • Account balancing and report writing
  • Provide recommendations to the appointed deputy concerning financial requests, budgets and change in circumstance
  • Working with and supporting incapacitous clients, helping them to live as well as possible
Although previous experience working in the Court of Protection is not essential, prospective applicants should have experience managing household budgets, property sales and purchases, overseeing investments, and arranging work to properties. This experience could be from a professional position, a voluntary role, or through personal experience.

The role requires an individual who is patient, compassionate and organised, has outstanding communication skills, and is committed to improving people’s lives; having developed the skills to manage individuals’ finances through previous life experience. Candidates must also hold a full driving licence.
