An international organisation are currently seeking an experienced Insurance Case Handler to help manage the end to end litigation process for a high volume on claims within their in house legal counsel. Reporting directly to the Legal Counsel, this person will solely support them with the day to day function of the litigation process, consequently experience of working within managing high value cases from start to finish is essential. The ideal candidate will have experience, ideally working inhouse or within Insurance as a claims handler, processing claims and understanding legal procedures related to such. Working in a niche area, this candidate will join a global business who are market leaders and will form a pivotal part of the team. This role is full time, permanent and offers hybrid working.

Day to day duties:
• Drafting correspondence, legal documents and pleadings related to disputes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal procedures
• Assist and support Legal Counsel and the wider legal team with day-to-day case matters such as email responses, organisation and time management, adhering to time specific deadlines and filing documentation
• Assist with trial bundle preparations, including paper evidence as well as digital submissions in a concise and logical manner
• Instruct a range of experts including surveyors and other key stakeholders on a global level
• Analyse and review commercial contracts, including charter agreements and shipping contracts to identify potential legal issues and ensure compliance
• Conduct legal research as and when needed to support legal argument
• Ensure all data, material and confidential information is stored and used in compliance with GDPR

This role is not suitable for anyone keen to progress into a lawyer/fee earner route as they don’t have those roles within the business. It would however suit someone who loves the litigation area and is keen to work inhouse within a forward thinking company. Experience of international law is preferred alongside experience within the Maritime sector though this is not essential but experience of working with complex, high value cases is key.

Due to the unique nature of this role, if your experience is not in line with the requirements of this role you will be unsuccessful.
