My client based in Birmingham are an established legal services firm looking to recruit a credit controller to join their busy team. You will be responsible for providing credit control support as required across the business, in order to maximise cash collection.

 The role will entail:

·                Develop an understanding of the firm’s business to enable effective management of the firm’s working capital, with a focus on reducing debt.

·                Liaise with fee earners on overdue bills where appropriate, carry out agreed actions and ensure that accurate records of those actions and responses received are kept up to date.

·                Work to monthly cash targets, manage own ledger and take ownership for resolving queries.

·                Ensure data held within the Firm systems is up to date and accurate with regard to credit control activities.

·                Actively implement the firm’s cash collection policy.

·                Develop good relationships across the business and understanding of clients, especially where persistent payment problems exist.

·                Use all available means to recover overdue bills in a timely manner.

·                Work with other credit controllers, and wider finance team, to ensure queries are resolved promptly. 

 

Applicants will have previous Credit Control experience. Exposure to professional services or Legal would be desirable although not essential.

 

Applicants must have at least five GCSE passes or equivalent (inc Maths and English) at grade C or above.
