Katie Bard TOTY 2016

Last night (09/06) the Katie Bard staff gathered at Bar Opus with clients and the outstanding temps that have been placed over the past twelve months for the annual Temp of the Year awards ceremony. Guests were welcomed with a Katie Bard cocktail, and after the initial pleasantries were exchanged Victoria Beckett and Lucy Williams took to the stage to announce this year’s winner(s).

Victoria and Lucy opened the awards with an optimistic overview of Birmingham’s employment market, noting the last 12 months had seen some extremely positive and invigorating shifts. They mentioned that more and more companies have been using temporary workers as a means of adding value and talent to their businesses, which has enabled many of Katie Bard’s candidates to gain great skills and experience with which they will be able to super charge their careers!

After thanking all the companies who took the time to send in an overwhelming number of nominations Victoria and Lucy moved attention to the award winners. There were five winners across the six categories, the first of which was Kalvinder Kaur who took home the prize for Secretary of the Year for her ‘quietly confident’ work at Harris Lamb. Administrator of the Year went to Joanna Rocks for her efficient and eager attitude working for Genting Casinos, and Receptionist of the Year was awarded to Danielle Boyce of Audley Primary School for her ‘exceptional service and adaptability’.

'On a regular basis, I receive amazing feedback regarding her work from our customers. She is someone I am very proud to have in my team, and I see an amazing future for her'. (Charlotte Buckell's nomination)

The Graduate of the Year award category was keenly contested and saw an unprecedented number of nominations, with this year’s award going to Charlotte Buckell of Birmingham City University. The PA of the Year award went to Rachelle Tuft of Synapse with her nominator stating ‘I genuinely do not know how I would fulfil my role without her dedicated support’. The penultimate award of the night was for Outstanding Contribution and was awarded to Laura Wainwright for her work for Footfall.

'She has redefined processes and simplified them, is a great team player, is always calm in a crisis and we be much missed, we'd love her to stay'. (Laura Wainwright's nomination)

The nomination for winner of the main award on the night was a clear stand out for Katie Bard Temp of the Year 2016. ‘Her personality and attitude is infectious, raising the entire teams morale, which has built strong relationships internally that we believe would not exist if it was not for her and her approach’. Congratulations to Charlotte Buckell of Birmingham City University for adding the Temp of the Year award to the Graduate of the Year award she picked up earlier in the evening!
